Q1 2021 Performance of Top Food Delivery Apps in Latin America

In the first quarter of 2021, the food delivery service landscape in Latin America saw significant user engagement across various platforms. Data from Sensor Tower highlights the performance of the top five food delivery apps in the region.

The iFood: pedir delivery em casa app started the quarter with around 550 thousand downloads in the last week of December and saw a fluctuating trend, ending March with approximately 590 thousand downloads. Despite revenue data not being available, its weekly active users remained consistently above 12 million, peaking at over 13 million in mid-March.

Rappi: Market and Food Online also displayed a strong presence with downloads beginning at 338 thousand and reaching a high of 454 thousand in late March. Revenue figures were minimal, but the app maintained a robust user base, with weekly active users starting at around 6.6 million and growing to over 7.7 million by mid-March.

The Uber Eats: Food Delivery app experienced a slight decline in downloads, starting the quarter with 331 thousand and dipping to 286 thousand by the end of March. Nonetheless, the app's weekly active users showed resilience, hovering around 10 million throughout the quarter.

For PedidosYa - Delivery App, the downloads remained stable at around 200 thousand in January and saw a notable increase to 448 thousand by the end of March. The app’s active users saw a steady increase from 3.5 million to nearly 4 million over the quarter.

Lastly, Wabi: Online Convenience Store had downloads ranging from 110 thousand to around 93 thousand, with weekly active users starting at approximately 534 thousand and ending the quarter at over 545 thousand.
